Whitewash head 2400x1200mm oil on board 2006

A large and exciting commission from The Estuary establishment in Ferry mead in Christchurch provided the opportunity for me to produce a series of long walk way paintings and some large stairwell works of which Whitewash head is one. The series followed the horizon along the Ferrymead Estuary in a journey following the many sailors, fishermen , early settlers and Maori .

Art on the French Riviera

On September 2nd 2007 The Clive Kelly Arts tour of The French Riviera will begin.
A group of six painting students from Wellington NZ will base themselves in Vence .
From this base camp at the HOTEL MIRAMAR we will tour from Menton through Nice to Antibes in search of Provencal beauty and some of the most amazing Art Galleries in all of France. This tour follows in the path of a similar group in 2005.
I hope to stay on in Vence to generate a series of paintings in response to this adventure.
